1 Who We Are

BoardPrep PH is a free online learning tracker designed to help Filipino students prepare for their professional board examinations. The service is operated by an individual developer based in the Philippines.

2 What Information We Collect

We collect only the information necessary to provide the service:

• Username — chosen by you when creating your profile
• Display name — the name shown on your public profile card
• Email address — used only to verify your account and for password recovery
• Password — stored as a secure hash (we never store your actual password)
• Study data — the subjects, sub-subjects, topics, notes, and exam date you add
• Profile picture — if you choose to upload one

We do not collect your location, device information, browsing history, or any information beyond what is listed above.

3 How We Use Your Information

Your information is used exclusively to provide and improve BoardPrep PH:

• To create and manage your account
• To send a one-time verification code when you register
• To send a password reset code if you request one
• To display your study progress within the app
• To generate personalized AI motivational messages based on your subjects and progress

We do not use your information for marketing emails, targeted advertising, or any purpose beyond operating the app.

4 How We Share Your Information

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to any third party. We share limited data only with the following service providers, strictly to operate the app:

• Brevo (email service) — receives your email address to deliver verification and password reset codes. Brevo does not use your email for any other purpose. Brevo Privacy Policy →

5 Data Storage and Security

All data is stored on Railway's servers. Your password is never stored in plain text — it is converted to a secure hash using industry-standard encryption (bcrypt) before being saved.

While we take reasonable measures to protect your data, no internet service can guarantee 100% security. We encourage you to use a strong, unique password for your BoardPrep PH account.

Data is retained for as long as your account exists. When you delete your account, all your data — including subjects, topics, notes, and profile information — is permanently and immediately deleted from our servers.

6 Your Rights

You have full control over your data:

• Access — you can view all your data at any time by logging into your account
• Edit — you can update your username, display name, email, and password in your profile settings
• Delete — you can permanently delete your account and all associated data at any time via the "Delete My Profile" option in your profile menu
• Contact us — if you need help accessing or removing your data, contact us directly

7 Children's Privacy

BoardPrep PH is intended for users who are preparing for professional board examinations and is therefore designed for adults and college-level students. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 years of age. If you believe a child has provided us with their information, please contact us and we will delete it immediately.

8 Cookies and Local Storage

BoardPrep PH uses browser session cookies to keep you logged in. We also use your browser's local storage to cache your daily motivational message so it loads instantly on repeat visits. No tracking cookies or third-party advertising cookies are used.

9 Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of BoardPrep PH after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.

We will never make changes that significantly reduce your privacy rights without giving you clear notice within the app.
